Guest Ambassador - Portland

Hopscotch is looking for hospitality professionals, students, hosts, guides, creative types, actors, waiters, comedians, dancers, retirees etc. If you love to talk and engage with people and are passionate about being a part of a team that provides a great customer experience to its guests then you will be a perfect fit for Guide / Ambassador. You must be reliable, have no fear of strangers, love to put smiles on people’s faces and take on challenges with enthusiasm.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Hopscotch brand with integrity and enthusiasm.
  • Perform and deliver a script to over hundreds of people a day.
  • Engage and entertain visitors and help to enhance their experience.
  • May check in guests, greet guests, work the merchandise area, be assigned various exhibits etc.
  • Set-up and close down assigned exhibits / rooms.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the station and overall space at all times.
  • Work cooperatively as part of a team and independently.
  • Interact with customers to provide top notch service.
  • Engage and entertain, be photographed and socialize, take photographs.
  • Describe installations with enthusiasm while also monitoring them to ensure they aren’t tampered with.

Who you are:

  • Very reliable and responsive.
  • Must uphold a strong attendance record.
  • Naturally comfortable meeting new people with a passion for making people smile.
  • Must have a genuine love and ability to talk with strangers young and old.
  • Ability to work as part of a professional on a team - Excellent verbal communication.

Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for working with a diverse team to support day-to-day operations
(exhibitions, admissions, guest services, retail, F&B, and overall venue management).

A successful candidate loves to work with people, demonstrates flexibility to support their team and is truly committed to helping staff achieve professional and organizational goals while working quickly, efficiently and enthusiastically in a high- volume, high paced environment. Experience scheduling, and managing a large team of staff is mandatory. Must have regular weekend availability and be excited to work in a creative and collaborative environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations to ensure a safe, comfortable, unique, and memorable experience for all guests.
  • Assist with exhibition maintenance, development, and fabrication when necessary.
  • Work with the General Manager and department leaders to execute and audit day-to-day operational plans.
  • Understand, maintain and implement policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs and adjust as necessary with company evolution.
  • Identify staffing needs, facilitate recruiting and onboarding, schedule the team and fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
  • Respond to and field private event leads to help oversee group event bookings to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Work across all departments in supporting the team in consistent execution of all systems and processes to consistently deliver services to brand standards.
  • Oversees productivity of direct reports and communicates any challenges with the leadership team.
  • Maintains rigorous corporate standards in aesthetics, guest experience, personnel management, and all other aspects of the business to create a positive and consistent guest experience from start to finish.

Who You Are

  • Thrive in a high trafficked fast paced environment.
  • Prior Assistant Manager / Manager experience
  • Leadership experience a must, preferably large team leadership
  • Flexible and open scheduling availability with the ability to work evenings, holidays and weekends as required
  • Excellent IT Skills (Google Workspace)
