The Earwig is a Portland graffiti writer, illustrator and muralist known for sharp, crisp wildstyle letters built on decades of practice. Where most wildstyle reads as speed, The Earwig's reads as precision: unconventional letterforms, crisp edges and conceptual characters. Those letters and characters hold walls across Portland and beyond.
The Oracle is your intuition that is a channel to your higher being. Know Thyself.
The influences run from classic wildstyle and abstract 3D graffiti to science-fiction film and art of the 1950s through the 1980s. The Earwig works in aerosol, acrylic, pen and ink, and digital, and has made work for galleries and private clients. Staying connected to the local scene matters more.
For Walls Within, The Earwig painted a wall about intuition and self-knowledge: interlocking wildstyle letters in purple, green and chrome, with a spell book under a galaxy spray. The wall carries an instruction: Know Thyself. Walls Within, curated with Portland Street Art Alliance, at Hopscotch Portland.
