Color Therapy

Step inside a circular field of color and sound, and let your senses fall for the light.

Color therapy (or chromotherapy) is an alternative remedy that uses color and light to treat physical or mental health by balancing the body’s energy centers, also known as chakras. This exhibition celebrates the impact of color on guests by surrounding them within a circular chamber of 12 bit RGB light. As colors shift and perform in parallel to the accompanying soundscape, guests are invited to let their senses fall prey to the endless periphery of light.

About the artist

POLIS Interactive is what happens when two engineers decide that being good at one thing is a limitation. Daniel Goodwin and Broose Wilcoxon founded the Austin studio after graduating from UT Austin, and they describe themselves as having no defined core competency on purpose: they would rather tackle whatever hard, interesting problem a project throws at them, whether that means writing software, wiring electrical systems, or running a digital fabrication shop.

Three guests sit cross-legged on the floor and toast with their drinks as the light glows red into pink.
