Diodic Daydream

Wade into a ball pit lit from within. Bright, electric, and built differently for each Hopscotch city.

Slide, play, swim and dance along with tens of thousands of light emitting diodes as they emit waves of color through a pool of translucent balls. Play encourages a felt sense of mindfulness and increases whole brain integration through physical movement and creative self-expression.

About the artists

Matchless Builds is a Portland fabrication studio that started in 2018 as a small crew who "wanted to do something different." The sixteen-person team, co-founded by Ryan Everson and Kyle Woodman, pulls talent from a range of industries to turn unreasonable ideas into physical things.

POLIS Interactive is what happens when two engineers decide that being good at one thing is a limitation. Daniel Goodwin and Broose Wilcoxon founded the Austin studio after graduating from UT Austin, and they describe themselves as having no defined core competency on purpose: they would rather tackle whatever hard, interesting problem a project throws at them, whether that means writing software, wiring electrical systems, or running a digital fabrication shop.
